Pastor John, I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for helping us get our son back. You met him when he was in a 30 day rehab program and told him about Teen Challenge. He told us about the program but he really wasn't ready to commit to the year long program. It was a year ago at Christmas that he decided he would enter the program and we dropped him off at Teen Challenge in January 2007. He has now sucessfully completed the program and graduated in January 2008 and is now in the Emerging Leaders program. Your friendship and encouragement has meant a great deal to our son, and we can't thank you enough. If you had not encouraged him to go to Teen Challenge, I hate to think what would have happened to him. He truly enjoys the time spent and the conversations he has with you. Not only has his life been changed but thru him our lives have been changed as well. His Dad is now going to church with me and reads his daily devotionals. The Lord is Great! Today is Mother's Day and I received a call first thing from my son to tell me how special I am to him and that he loved me. Later in the day, he called to tell me that he gave his testimony in church and talked about our relationship in his testimony. He said a lady came up to him later and said she hoped her son felt the same way for her. It made me cry because there was a time when I didn't think he even liked me!! But I know now that it was the drugs that made him not care about anything or anyone. Again I want to thank you for being there for our son and encouraging him. I would also say to anyone whose child has a drug or alcohol program please contact Teen Challenge. The program thru Christ can restore lives and families. It has ours and it can for others. I TRIED OTHER PROGRAMS THAT WERE SHORT TERM BUT ALWAYS RELAPSED AGAIN. PASTOR JOHN EVEN GAVE ME THE MONEY FOR MY TB TEST WHICH I PROMPTLY TURNED INTO CRACK COCAINE. WHEN I CONFESSED TO IT, HE JUST SAID " I KNOW" AND HUGGED ME. AS LONG I WAS GETTING WELL, THAT'S ALL THAT MATTERED TO HIM. I KNOW HE LOVES ME BY HIS ACTIONS, NOT JUST HIS WORDS. I NOW HAVE HOPE WHERE THERE WAS NONE AND AM ANXIOUS TO LEAD MY FAMILY AS THE HUSBAND AND FATHER I SHOULD BE. PASTOR JOHN NEVER GAVE UP ON ME AND WAS A BIG PIECE OF THE PUZZLE OF MY RECOVERY. I WANT TO HELP OTHERS TO GET THIS GIFT OF SOBRIETY AND A REAL RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD. I AM NOW SOBER 7 MONTHS. IT IS A MIRACLE. JOHNNY B. FORT MYERS, Fl.
